With Dr. Cornel West on steps of Supreme Court, Sunday October 17, 2011. We would both soon be arrested and spend 24 hours locked up before all charges were dropped without explanation.

As an embedded journalist/ filmmaker who has been very active (twice arrested, once pepper sprayed this October alone) in the process of creating a documentary from an insider’s POV on the Occupy Everywhere movement that is now exploding across the country and the globe, I need your help.

I need your help financing this project.

When I set out to cover the October 2011 events in Freedom Plaza, Washington DC for a feature length documentary, no one could have predicted how big the worldwide occupy movement would have grown. The 99% have risen up, and no one can deny that we are now living through a major moment in history.

Recognizing this, my focus in creating this documentary needs to expand. With this expanded focus come additional expenses. Many people have donated to this project already- but with the expansion of the movement, so go the expansion (and financial requirements that go with it) of this project. Please consider a donation today.

And as one of the organizers of October2011.org, I recognize the critical importance of the Occupation that is taking place in Washington DC. I will continue my coverage from DC- but I also plan satellite trips to Occupies everywhere.

As someone who lives near Boston, MA- I feel pulled to visit and join in the Occupy Boston. I plan on being there.

Oct 11, 2011: On the first day Congress was in session, I was arrested in the Hart Senate Office building for sending the message that we need to end war as an instrument of foreign policy and then re-direct those resources towards human and environmental needs.

A New Yorker by birth and disposition, I am pulled to NYC. I was there recently and captured this footage of police violence (video below). I plan on returning to OWS.

Finally, I feel that to tell this story, I will need to visit Occupations everywhere, camera crew in tow. I will use donations to fund visits and video reports from Occupy Everywhere.

The footage will be used to create daily updates (like those seen below) and fund the feature length documentary project I am working on.

Thank you for donating.
